Reflexology dates back thousands of years but is now beginning to be accepted in the Western world as beneficial to one's health and well-being.
It is a non-invasive therapy which involves stimulation of the reflexes on the feet which correspond to various organs, glands and systems of the body. This is done by applying pressure in a systematic way using the therapist's fingers and thumbs.
A state of balance and well-being can be achieved by Reflexology.
STRESS plays a major part in modern day life and is around us whether at home, work or in the social environment.
When stress becomes too much for us to handle, the body's natural defences break down and we become susceptible to 'dis-ease'.
WHAT DOES REFLEXOLOGY DO AND WHAT CAN IT HELP?
Reflexology helps to relieve stress and tension by allowing the body to relax. It can be very relaxing or invigorating depending on the needs of the individual. After a treatment, people are often aware of a feeling of tranquillity, or increased vitality, making them feel more able to cope and tackle most issues in their life with renewed energy.
Every individual can benefit from Reflexology. It is a therapy that maintains good health, strengthens the immune system and helps to combat stress.
It can help with the following stress related disorders-
Tension
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Anxiety
Sinus problems
Muscular tension, aches and pains
Depression
Back pain
Constipation
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first session involves a detailed consultation before the treatment and will last for approximately 70 - 90 minutes.
